Book cover titled 'In the Name of Being Honest' by Francisco Lupini, featuring bold, colorful text and a simple illustration of a house with a porch, grass, a yellow sun, set against a red background.

Synopsis: When a drunken young man tears a Greek flag from a house in Fire Island Pines, a security camera captures the incident, and a Facebook post turns a minor act of vandalism into a neighborhood scandal.

The following afternoon, Julian arrives with his husband Nick to apologize to the flag's owners, Theo and Henry, a married couple who have spent decades together.

What begins as an awkward but civilized encounter between two generations of gay men gradually unravels into an evening of increasingly dangerous revelations, unexpected attractions, and uncomfortable truths about marriage, fidelity, aging, and desire.

As drinks are poured and inhibitions disappear, all four men discover that honesty is not necessarily a virtue, particularly when it becomes an excuse to say things that might have been better left unsaid.

A sophisticated, acerbic comedy about love, generational differences, and the extraordinary damage people can inflict while insisting they're only telling the truth.
